I took Maha Mama’s prenatal yoga teacher training in Fall 2018 and her Mommy & Baby training in 2019. They were both absolutely wonderful. Krissy is full of knowledge & understanding and has a deep passion and love for what she does and pours it into her students and clients alike. Her follow up throughout and after the course was extremely helpful, she creates a powerful community full of loving kind women so happy to be a part of it!

Maha Mama prenatal and postnatal teacher training goes above and beyond yoga poses for the pregnant woman. With a list of speakers who are experts in their field you will learn about anatomy, nutrition, how to create a community for your pregnant mamas and much much more. Krissy Shields is extremely knowledgeable and teaches with the most amazing energy. I highly recommend Maha Mama to any Yoga teacher who wishes to further their education.

I first met instructor Krissy 4 years ago during my 200 hour training. I'd known that I wanted to do a pre-natal training for a long time and it was just shortly after I announced my own pregnancy that I discovered Krissy was holding her first pre/postnatal training. I had the unique opportunity to participate in the MahaMama training while I was in my 3rd trimester with my first baby. This training honors yoga as so much more than asana. In addition to learning ways to stretch and strengthen ones's body in preparation for birth and after, Krissy emphasizes creating a community of support and offers meditation, mantra and stamina building as necessary tools. She went out of her way to provide me with additional information and support tailored to my needs. She is a compassionate and knowledgeable instructor that is able to draw out the Maha Mama in all of us. Through Krissy's guidance, she is able to establish a community that views the to-be mom as a whole- touching on subjects such as labor, breastfeeding, exploring choices in childbirth, and connecting to-be mom's to a multitude of resources. I felt guided and cared for by this community of passionate people which empowered me to make choices in my pregnancy that I would not have otherwise done. I chose to have a doula and utilized other tools and consequently had a beautiful birth experience. I am ever so grateful for the role Maha Mama played in my birth experience and would highly recommend Krissy, the Maha Mama training, and it's graduates.

Maha mama was the highlight of my year. The absolutely awe inspiring collection of people who came together to learn how to serve such an important group was more than I could have ever asked for . You will learn so much! If you are coming as a yoga teacher you will learn everything from how to lead a prenatal class to adjusting your class for the one pregnant women in a typical class. But even if you are not a yoga teacher, I highly highly recommend maha mama for the wealth of knowledge that you will acquire and be able to use in so many unexpected ways. Can't say enough great things about it!

This training was an incredible, inspiring, and empowering one. The Maha Mama community is warm, welcoming, supportive, and creative! The information presented in our manuals was comprehensive, and I return to it as a touchstone for teaching, constantly. The mission to uphold the Mamas, to serve them in healthy, supportive ways is sewn into every fiber of this beautifully woven training. Each session was packed with information, along with invaluable references. We learned the importance of holding a safe and open space for each other and our students. Lecturers brought so much knowledge and passion, making this experience and journey of teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga accessible. I would recommend this to teachers want to grow their knowledge of prenatal/postnatal yoga, to anyone who may teach any kind of physical activity to prenatal and postnatal women, to doulas, to every one! Honestly, I cannot recommend this training enough!
