4.0

I am thankful that Yoga Factory exists! We are so lucky to have an organization dedicated to providing affordable yoga for the community. To be able to get an annual membership for $300 is unheard of. I like experiencing all of the different styles and personalities of the instructors. In my opinion, there are two types of yoga styles - the "work out" style classes (all speed and sweat, basic poses, no feedback from the instructor) and the longer classes that are more meditative (think incense, aromatherapy and a focus on breath and form). In my experience, the vinyasa classes at Yoga Factory are more meditative, which is my preference, but I always leave feeling like I got a good work out in. Pro tip: The upstairs studio can be really warm, so bring a towel and some water.

Looked like a nice facility. Upstairs locker room/practice room smelled terrible. What made it a very negative experience for me was how rude and unwelcoming two female staff were. One didnt say anything to me and stared at me, even after I said hello. The second was the instructor who literally told me the class she was instructing (bikram) "was supposed to be for experienced practicers and i was basically getting a free private lesson" even though the description explicitly said ALL levels welcome. Two other girls were in the class with me, thankfully, who also told me they experienced the same rudeness and unwelcoming behavior and had regretted buying a pass for the hot yoga sessions. Anyway, I wont be going back.

Took the PyroPilates class. I always thought I was in good shape but guess there’s always room for improvement. It kicked my butt! The teacher was funny and supportive and tough and hot. Yep. Next time I’m in Philly I’ll definitely stop by.

Excellant studio, nice atmosphere, serious but not so serious yoga going on! Will be coming back again and again. Thank you!
